Safe Sitter Class Aug. 19

Saturday, August 19, 2017 08:00am - 03:00pm

Children 11 to 15 years of age can learn a number of safety lessons, including how to watch younger siblings and babysit during a number of Safe Sitter® classes scheduled in 2017 at Tomah Memorial Hospital.

Coordinated by the hospital’s Community Outreach Department, classes will be held August 19 from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the hospital’s lower level classrooms. Classes are designed to prepare students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting”.  Classes are filled with fun games and role-playing exercises. Students even get to use manikins to practice rescue skills like choking rescue and CPR.

Early registration is suggested since space is limited for each class. The cost of the class is $36 and includes the babysitting handbook, lunch and a snack.
