Serenity House

Serenity House, a four-bed hospice residence in Tomah, Wisconsin, is available to persons enrolled in the hospital program who, for whatever reason, can no longer remain in their own home. Individualized care by staff and volunteers and special design of the house, yard, and decks provide outdoor space and home-like comfort.

Serenity House of Hospice Touch…

is a four-bed residence for persons enrolled in the hospice program. Although hospice care is most frequently provided in a person's own home, at times this is not possible.

Serenity House…

can be home for hospice patients who, for whatever reason, can no longer remain in their own home.

Serenity House…

offers a private room with shared bathroom and 24-hour/day care by a certified nursing assistant who will help with personal cares, medications and meals.

The hospice staff including registered nurses, social worker, chaplain and volunteers make regular visits, as they would if the resident were at home.

Volunteers provide extra support and care. Family and friends are welcome at any time, and they may cook food and participate in the patient's day as much as they would like. A recliner chair is available if a family member is needed to spend the night.

Serenity House…

Each room is individually decorated. The house has a beautiful view of Lake Tomah. The landscaped grounds and decks on the back of the house offer outdoor space.

Serenity House …

is staffed and made available through Hospice Touch, a full service Medicare. JCAHO-certified hospice program providing services to the terminally ill and their families in the Tomah, Adams, Mauston and surrounding area.

Questions Regarding Payment

The room charges for Serenity House are separate from the hospice benefit provided by Medicare, Medical Assistance and insurance plans. The hospice social worker can help you determine if your insurance plan covers the hospice residence. The daily charge is negotiable with a sliding fee scale. Application for a reduced rate can be make by completing a Tomah Memorial Hospital community care form. Memorials and other donations to Hospice Touch are welcome, and they help make up the difference for those who cannot pay the full fee.
