Prepared Childbirth Education
July 8 & 15 (Mondays)

Tomah Memorial Hospital
The all inclusive Prepared Childbirth four-part course focuses on a variety of relaxation techniques used during labor and delivery, plus information on newborn care and feeding, parenting, newborn characteristics and medical treatment options. The fee for the class is $35.00.
Infant CPR / Car Seat Safety Education

The time has finally arrived; you’ve done all the right things, ate the right foods, got plenty of rest and read to your unborn child. The nursery is ready and your bags are packed, but did you take the one class that could save your child’s life? Free Infant CPR / Car Seat classes are offered to parents delivering at Tomah Memorial Hospital. Breastfeeding Education
July 11 (Thursday)

New moms interested in breastfeeding their newborn can learn more about it during this 2-hour class, which is designed to prepare the potential breastfeeding family for the breastfeeding experience. During this class, information will be presented on the advantages of breastfeeding, prenatal preparation, healthy nutrition, the partner’s role and returning to work while continuing to breastfeed. The cost of this class is $10.00. Interested parents are asked to contact TMH Nursing Service secretary Kari Steinhoff at (608)374-6605 for information on registration. Water birth Education

Siblings Education

Parents can also include younger brothers and sisters in the new addition to the family during a Siblings class. It’s designed to prepare children for the arrival of a new brother or sister. The cost for the class is $10.00 for one child; $15.00 for two or more. TMH Blood Drive
July 18 (Thursday)
1 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Tomah Memorial Hospital
Tomah area residents are encouraged to give blood during a drive in the lower level classrooms at Tomah Memorial Hospital, 321 Butts Avenue. To donate blood, a person must be in good health, at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and have photo identification. Sixteen-year-olds may donate with parental consent. Forms are available at TMH, and on line with the Blood Center of Wisconsin at www.bcw.edu. Donors can call Tomah Memorial Hospital at 374-6605 to schedule an appointment, although walk-ins are welcome.
